It is without doubt the Paris you speak the most.
In these large arcades constructed by Baron Haussmann, this is the city the most stylish and luxurious. A real walkway through the gold and lights.
This district derives its name from the famous Place Vendôme. It is located located to the north of the Tuileries Gardens and east of the Église de la Madeleine. Its regular architecture by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and pedimented cut corners give the rectangular Place Vendôme the aspect of an octagon. The Place Vendôme Column at the center was erected by Napoleon to commemorate the battle of Austerlitz.
The Place Vendôme has been famous for its fashionable and deluxe hotels: The Hôtel Ritz Paris, which is frequently just called “the Ritz”, the Park Hyatt Vendôme, and the Bristol. Many famous designers have had their ateliers in the square. The only remaining one is the shirt tailor Charvet whose store has been on the Place since 1877.
If you prefer shopping, you’ll be delighted: here, luxury shopping in the Rue Royale and Place Vendôme, and the part of the Saint-Honoré street, or the great department stores like Printemps and Galerie Lafayette. Finally, you can admire here the magnificent Madeleine church or the breathtaking Grand Opera.
